Posted by Phil Tuminelli, Last Updated: Tue Jan 28, 2014

Please join us for our first UNO Dough Night on Tuesday, February 18. Not only will it be kids night, tbut here will be players from the Providence Bruins on site signing autographs for the kids starting at 6pm. Just like years past, UNO will be "giving back" 20% of the bills from anyone who hands them the coupon linked below. This is a very good fundraiser for the PAL- last year we raised right around $1100, so lets look to beat that number this year! Spread the word, hand out the coupon to friends, family and co-workers and share this post! We hope to see everyone their!!

News: Clinic Update
Posted by Phil Tuminelli, Last Updated: Tue Jan 21, 2014

Due to the impending snowstorm, All PAL softball clinics and RBI pitching clinics are postponed
for tonight, Tuesday 1/21. Hope to see you next week!

PAL Baseball Clinics Schedule Updates
Reminder to everyone of a few schedule changes:
  >Age 10 Clinic for today (Sunday Jan 19th) - The clinic will start at noon but end 30 minutes early.
  >Age 11+ Clinic for today (January 19th) - The clinic today is canceled.
  > Both clinics will resume normal schedules next week.
Also as reminder, due to the holiday on Monday, there is no catching clinic this week. Anytime the Plainville Schools are closed (holiday, weather, etc...) there are no clinics that day.
Most clinics are not sold out, with the exception of the RBI pitching clinic for age 10+ (Tuesday from 8-9 PM).
We also do need help coaching. Ideally we would like a 4-5 player to coach ratio to ensure the kids are getting enough reps. This is especially helpful for the younger kids. If you are interested, please let me or the coach at your session know.
If you have any questions, please contact Jay Traficante or leave a message here

News: PAL 2014 information and registration sessions
Posted by Phil Tuminelli, Last Updated: Mon Jan 6, 2014

YOUR  Plainville Athletic League will be holding two information/registrations sessions in the coming weeks.

We'd like the opportunity to introduce the new Board members, explain where we are and what we have
planned as well as some of the changes we've proposed for the coming season.  Most importantly, we want to
to hear YOUR input, feedback and ideas as to how we can improve the PAL.  Several Board members will be
on hand to answer any questions you may have about the PAL and how we operate.   We realize that baseball
and softball may not be on your mind right now, but planning for the 2014 season actually started in September of 2013

The PAL Board is requesting that one parent or guardian of every athlete who intends to register for the 2014 season attend one of the two information sessions we have planned.

SESSION 1
WHEN: Wednesday, January 8
TIME: 7:00 PM
WHERE: Jackson School Cafeteria

SESSION 2
WHEN: Thursday, January 16
TIME: 7:00 PM
WHERE: Wood School Cafeteria

Remember, the Plainville Athletic League has been a privately run Plainville institution since 1955 while existing solely on the volunteer efforts of Plainville residents and local business sponsorship (i.e. advertising). We receive ZERO tax dollars from the town.  This fact allows us to operate within the rules and regulations we agree on while remaining unencumbered by town budgets, politics and outside influences .  This is perhaps the reason we have been so successful for the past 59 seasons.  But we need and want your help to keep this going.  The Board of the Plainville Athletic League looks forward to meeting, seeing and hearing you at one of the upcoming registration/information sessions.

The PAL is proud of its policy to never turn away a child due to a family's inability to pay.
